Welcome to Mrs. Weakley's Wiki    2009-10

This wiki will provide parents and students with weekly assignments for English 10 P-AP.  Assemblies, pep rallies, school drills, and other special events may cause assignments to change during the week. Wiki is updated on Sunday and will give the upcoming lessons and assignments for the week.

Class will take a pre-assessment Eng "test" covering all units of study in Eng., i.e. drama, poetry, grammar, writing, etc. This is only for review and discussion, so those students in the library during this review are not penalized.  Once everyone returns from library:

Share with a partner the close reading (CR) of "Malcolm X: A Homemade Education," noting another student's choice of "impt info" and especially new vocabulary/definitions within the nonfiction piece.  Class will hear individual students share their one-sentence summary of the piece.  Short quiz over the reading.

Homework:

If time allows, begin rough draft writing for three paragraph essay due Tues.  All essays have intro paragraph with thesis, body, and conclusion.  On Tues, stu will turn in both the handwritten rough draft and the typed copy.
